This site is a tribute to John Smith. He led a full and interesting life, and will always be fondly remembered by his family. His academic career in languages and linguistics as well as his research into dialect studies led him to visit many interesting places and countries. A lover of nature and the great outdoors he loved to stand and stare, to admire the view and soak up the peace and quiet. A family man who was young at heart, he loved to spend time with children and his grand children.
